Best Chili Recipe

This is the best chili recipe to win any chili cook off or to impress your family and friends with this spectacular ground beef chili. Friends have won chili cookoffs in their categories with this award winning chili recipe.



An Award Winning Chili Recipe

Ingredients

2 lbs ground beef

6 slices bacon

1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed tomatoes, chopped

1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste

1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained

1 cup beef broth

1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce

1 cup onion, chopped

1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper 1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 (1.25 ounce) package chili seasoning mix

1/4 cup white wine

1/3 cup bottled steak sauce

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro

2 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes

1/2 tsp - 1 tsp chili powder

Directions

1. In a large pot or dutch oven combine tomatoes, tomato paste, onion, garlic, wine, pepper flakes, red and green bell peppers and steak sauce and Simmer for 30 minutes over low heat.

2. While tomato mixture is simmering, in a large skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crisp. Let drain on paper towels. Pour off all but 2 Tablespoon bacon grease. Cook beef in bacon drippings until brown; drain. Stir chili seasoning mix and chili powder into ground beef. Saute for 5 minutes

3. Stir seasoned beef, cumin and bacon into tomato mixture. Continue to simmer 20 to 30 minutes until vegetables are tender and flavors are well blended.

4. Stir in beans, cilantro and parsley. Heat through for 10 minutes and serve.

Have It Your Way, Every Way

1. Use fire roasted chopped tomatoes or diced tomatoes with green chilies instead of stewed tomatoes in this ground beef chili.

2. Use slow cooker and cook on low for 6 - 8 hours.
