Homemade Chili Recipe with Ground Turkey and Special Ingredient

Ingredients

3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

2 1/2 pounds ground turkey

1 can black beans, rinsed and drained

1 cup green bell peppers, chopped

1 cup red bell pepper, chopped

1 cup onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced or crushed

4 tablespoons dark chili powder 1 tablespoons grill seasoning blend 1 tablespoon cumin

1/4 tsp salt 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 1 to 3 tablespoons hot sauce, medium to extra-spicy 1 bottle beer ( I use a dark rich beer, some people use a light beer) 1 (14-ounce) can tomato sauce 1/2 cup smoky barbecue sauce (not too sweet - I like Stubbs) 1 cup frozen or canned corn

Directions

This dish is one of those easy dutch oven recipes. Heat oil in the dutch oven over medium heat. Add the turkey meat, chili powder, grill seasoning, cumin, salt, Worcestershire. Mix it all together and saute the meat until it browns.

Add onions and chopped bell peppers and cook 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook and additional 5 minutes or until tender.

Add beer and deglaze the pan, scraping the bottom of the pan and cooking off the alcohol. Add tomato sauce, hot sauce and barbecue sauce and bring to a boil. Add the corn.

Let chili simmer 30 minutes. If needed add additional seasonings and hot sauce to your taste.
