Queso Dip Recipe

A delicious homemade queso dip recipe will be one of your most popular super bowl party recipes. It is a great addition to your party menu ideas.

Chili con Queso Recipe

This delicious cheese dip recipe is made with real cheese. Many people make this dip with Velveeta or other processed cheese. Believe me I have eaten my share of that dip. I started searching for one made with real cheese. After some trial and error I decided on this yummy version.

Enjoy the wonderful flavors of this Mexican cheese dip. This is one of the best party dip recipes.

I love to serve this dip in my mini crock pot. It is one of my favorite rival crock pots.

Ingredients

1 1/4 pounds white American cheese, diced or shredded

2/3 cups milk

1/2 cup diced onion

2 tsp butter

1 teaspoon chopped fresh garlic

1/4 cup diced Anaheim chilies

1/4 cup chopped canned sliced jalapenos

1/4 cup canned diced tomatoes or use Rotel

3/4 teaspoon ground cumin

1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions

Saute the onion, garlic and chilies and jalapenos in butter until tender. About 5 - 10 minutes.

Heat the cheese and milk in double boiler until melted and smooth. You can also do this in a crock pot. Add the sauteed vegetables and remaining ingredients.

Continue to cook on low or simmer, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld

Transfer the chili con queso to small chafing dish, fondue pot or small crock pot.

Serve warm with tortilla chips.

Have It Your Way, Every Way

1. Make this Mexican cheese dip with Rotel tomatoes instead of plain canned tomatoes.

2. Add some cooked Chorizo sausage to the dip

3. Serve with vegetables

4. Try different cheeses for a different flavor
